Illegal Immigrants Don't Have to Get Vaccinated

At a September 10, 2021 press briefing, Presidential Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked, "But it’s a requirement for people at a business with more than 100 people, but it’s not a requirement for [illegal immigrant] migrants at the southern border. Why?" Psaki replied, "That's correct."

Why the 100 Employee Limit?

On September 9, 2021, Biden announced plans to "require all employers with 100 or more employees [...] are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week."

When asked, "And then, do you have anything to share about how you landed on employers with 100 employees or more? Why not the entire workforce?", Press Secretary Jen Psaki answered:

Well, it was an assessment made by the Department of Labor and the Secretary of Labor. I will say it obviously impacts a huge number of people, so we think it will have an enormous impact on businesses, on companies, on communities and the workforce. But, you know, it was a determination made by the Labor Department.
