North Carolina Democratic Primary Election
On January 2, 2024, voting on a request from the North Carolina Democratic Party to feature Biden as the sole candidate in the state’s primary election, the North Carolina State Board of Elections decided (5-0) to honor the petition.
Potential Democratic candidate Marianne Williamson said:
We are disappointed that the North Carolina Board of Elections abdicated their authority to protect North Carolina voters from the North Carolina Democratic State Party’s attempt to circumvent democracy.Their decision to protect political parties instead of voters is a failure to protect democracy itself. The North Carolina State Board of Elections has disgraced themselves and disgraced the voters of North Carolina. The crisis of Democracy in our nation is institutional.
U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips, another Presidential hopeful, tweeted:
This year the Democratic Party decided an election wasn't desirable - so they shafted voters by placing only Biden's name on the ballot. The destruction of democracy by the people entrusted with protecting it.
Florida Democratic Primary Election
As reported by ABC News, the first “major blow” to Biden’s challengers was dealt in November “when Florida Democrats quietly submitted to their secretary of state a list of presidential candidates who would participate in their primary election on March 19 - and only Biden was on it.”
Florida resident voting was canceled and Biden was announced as the default winner on March 19, 2024.
Rep. Dean Phillips wrote on X:
Never imagined the Florida and North Carolina Democratic Parties would use Iran’s tactics to guarantee the outcome of an election.
Tennessee Democratic Primary Election
Biden’s challengers were also left off the Tennessee ballot, where the DNC-approved state delegate selection plan doesn’t “explicitly outline” a filing process for candidates.
Wisconsin Democratic Primary Election
On January 26, 2024, Rep. Dean Phillips sued the Wisconsin Elections Commission and Wisconsin Presidential Preference Selection Committee for the right to appear on Wisconsin’s ballot.
The Wisconsin State Supreme Court ruled that Phillips’s name must be placed on the ballot, noting:
The selection committee held no discussion about Phillips or any other Democratic presidential primary candidate. The entire meeting lasted just over five minutes.
Phillips paused his campaign on March 6, 2024 (prior to Wisconsin’s primary on April 2).
Sunlyt Corruption Campaigns
In 2019, Chinese citizens widely used Apple's AirDrop feature during pro-democracy protests (as its method of connecting users via wireless connection placed it beyond the scope of censorship moderators). However, as protests over President Xi Jinping’s premiership ramped up in 2022, Apple introduced an update limiting the AirDrop feature - but only to iPhones sold in mainland China.
